All About Our Mommy Makeover

September 27, 2023

Motherhood is a beautiful chapter in a woman’s life filled with moments of joy, love, and growth. However, the journey of bringing a new life into the world can also leave its mark on your body. From stretched skin and altered breast shape to residual fat that refuses to budge, these physical changes can sometimes overshadow the beauty of motherhood. That’s why BEAUTY by BUFORD offers mommy makeovers so mothers can erase their post-pregnancy insecurities!

What Is A Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover is an individually curated combination of cosmetic procedures designed to rejuvenate and restore your body to its pre-pregnancy state. It’s not merely about vanity; it’s about reviving the confidence and self-assuredness that every woman deserves.

At its core, a mommy makeover is a body revitalization. It addresses multiple areas, from tightening the abdomen and elevating the breasts to contouring the body’s curves. Each procedure is customized, ensuring the results align with your unique goals and desires.

BEAUTY by BUFORD believes in celebrating every facet of womanhood. With our mommy makeover, we offer a chance for mothers to embrace their bodies with renewed pride and confidence.

What Does It Entail?

Everyone’s body is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. Dr. Buford provides many options to create your unique mommy makeover program. The following choices can be mixed and matched to target your specific concerns and achieve your desired look.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation enhances breast size and shape using implants. It can boost confidence by achieving a fuller, symmetrical bust. Whether restoring volume post-pregnancy or enhancing natural contours, it’s a popular choice for many seeking aesthetic balance.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, or mastopexy, rejuvenates sagging breasts by elevating and reshaping them. It addresses drooping caused by aging, weight fluctuations, or childbirth, restoring a youthful, perky appearance. We can combine this procedure with augmentation for a complete enhancement.

Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, tightens the abdominal region by removing excess skin and repairing stretched muscles. Ideal for post-pregnancy or significant weight loss, it creates a smoother, flatter abdomen, elevating the body’s overall silhouette.

Liposuction

Liposuction sculpts the body by removing stubborn fat deposits from targeted areas. Using advanced techniques, it contours regions like the abdomen, thighs, and arms, achieving a toned, streamlined appearance. It’s a solution for those areas resistant to diet and exercise.

Skincare

SkinMedica, SkinBetter Science, and EltaMD offer advanced skincare solutions that rejuvenate and protect the skin. Scientifically-backed formulations address concerns like aging, sun damage, fine lines, acne, uneven tone, and more. These products aid in healing and maintaining radiant, healthy skin.

Facial Injectables

Facial injectables, like BOTOX, JUVÉDERM, Restylane, and Sculptra, restore facial volume and smooth wrinkles. These non-surgical treatments offer immediate results, rejuvenating the face by filling in lines and enhancing features. They provide a refreshed, youthful look with minimal downtime.

Mommy Makeover FAQs

Many questions patients have about mommy makeovers are patient-specific and cannot be accurately or wholly answered here. We’ll do our best to answer these four common questions, but please remember that it depends on your body and the procedures you opted for!

What will the recovery be like?

Recovery varies among individuals and procedures. Generally, patients experience tenderness, swelling, and bruising. It’s crucial to rest, avoid strenuous activities (including picking up a small child), and follow all post-operative care guidelines. Regular check-ins with Dr. Buford will help monitor your healing progress and address your specific concerns.

How long will it take for scars to heal?

Most surgical scars mature over 12-18 months, and during this period, they soften and fade. Proper wound care, sun protection, and scar treatments can expedite healing and improve scar appearance. Dr. Buford will try to place your incision in an easily coverable area so that you can focus on your amazing outcome and not the incisions required to create that outcome.

When will I see my mommy makeover results?

While some changes are noticeable immediately post-surgery, optimal results typically manifest after the swelling disappears and healing is complete. Depending on the procedures undertaken, this can range from a few weeks to several months.

Do I qualify for a mommy makeover?

While there is no single requirement checklist for mommy makeovers, ideal candidates are those in good health, at a stable weight, and have realistic expectations. This type of combination procedure is generally best suited for those who aren’t planning future pregnancies, as childbirth can alter long-term results. A consultation with Dr. Buford will help assess your needs and lifestyle to confirm that the desired procedures align with your goals and health status.

Ideal candidates are also patients who want to get the procedures done for themselves and no one else. Remember, plastic surgery is for YOU to be happy to look in the mirror, not for others to be happier looking at you.

Natrelle® Breast Implants
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Breast implants are not lifetime devices. The longer patients have them, the greater the chance they will develop complications, which may require more surgery. Breast implants have been associated with a cancer of the immune system called breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Some patients have died from BIA-ALCL. Patients have also reported a variety of systemic symptoms such as joint pain, muscle aches, confusion, chronic fatigue, autoimmune diseases, and others.

Natrelle® Breast Implants are for breast augmentation and revision surgery in women at least 22 years old for silicone-filled implants and women at least 18 years old for saline-filled implants.

You should not get breast implants if you currently have an active infection, untreated breast cancer or precancer, or are pregnant or nursing. Tell your doctor about any conditions you have, any medications you are taking, and any planned cancer treatments. Breast implantation is likely not a one-time surgery.

Having implants removed and not replaced may lead to permanent cosmetic changes of the breasts. Breast implants may affect breastfeeding. Gel implants may rupture without symptoms, so periodic imaging after surgery is recommended.

Key complications are reoperation, implant removal, implant rupture, implant deflation with saline-filled implants, and severe capsular contracture.

Talk to your doctor for more information.

The use of Natrelle® Breast Implants is restricted to licensed physicians who provide information to patients about the risks and benefits of breast implant surgery.
